"Sanitary cordon" around LFI: Manuel Bompard believes that Laurent Wauquiez is "adrift"

The national coordinator of La France Insoumise, Manuel Bompard, said on Sunday, May 4, that the leader of the Les Républicains deputies, Laurent Wauquiez, was "adrift" and in an "outrageous" and "ridiculous" approach after his statements on the need for a "sanitary cordon" around LFI .
"I think Laurent Wauquiez is drifting, that he is realizing that unfortunately for him, while he thought it would be a walk in the park, Bruno Retailleau is competing with him in a sometimes equally outrageous manner" for the LR congress, declared the Bouches-du-Rhône MP on LCI.
"Every week, Laurent Wauquiez comes up with a proposal and comments that are even more outrageous than the previous week," he said, referring to the proposal by the leader of the LR deputies to send people under obligation to leave the territory (OQTF) to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon .
"You sort it out among yourselves, leave us alone," concluded Manuel Bompard.
In an interview published Saturday in the JDD, Laurent Wauquiez called for "a cordon sanitaire to be established around LFI," accusing Jean-Luc Mélenchon's movement of being a "threat to France."
He also called for "the creation of a commission of inquiry into the links between La France Insoumise and Islamist networks."
Manuel Bompard and Laurent Wauquiez are due to debate together next weekend on BFMTV, one week before the LR congress.
